The Health Services National Partnership Forum (HSNPF) recognises the exceptional challenges presented to management, staff and unions by the current economic climate and the need to ensure continued excellence in service delivery to all patients and clients.
During these difficult times we, the members of the Forum, emphasise the validity of the principles of partnership working i.e. inclusiveness, communication, consultation, collaboration and participation, as outlined in the Health Services Partnership Agreement (2006), and our preference for this way of doing business. We believe it is particularly relevant that Partnership should continue to provide opportunities for management/ union engagement at this time.
The Forum is committed to continuing to lead, promote and support the joint working approach, involving unions, management and staff at local, Area and National levels of the Health Services in facing these challenges.
We acknowledge the commitment that exists to working in partnership and the concerns about partnership performance, as expressed by partnership committees in feedback from a recent survey. We are committed to addressing the issues highlighted in that feedback.
It is our intention to address these and other matters in a new three-year HSNPF strategy, a first draft of which is in preparation, which will set out a clear vision, strategic objectives, key activities and action plan for partnership activity for the period 2009-2012.
